I’m a self-taught teen maker turning imagination into real, wearable tech. My name is Mateo, I am an Engineering YouTuber who loves to document my projects through films. From imagination to ideas; come see the evolution of my robotic arms and functional Iron Man hands in person, plus the early 3D printed prototypes that started them all. Feel free to stop by and say hello to Pico, my shoulder robot and sidekick who's full of personality! What began as personal projects, these inventions led me to present at science fairs and competitions all over the world. Today, I focus on inspiring young creators to start building, like I once did. This year, I’ll be sharing how to build a difference, at Maker Faire Miami. To learn more and follow my journey, check out MateoTechLab on YouTube!
Experience larger-than-life cosplay creations! See towering, intricately crafted costumes up close, learn about the build process, and explore the art of bringing massive characters to life with foam, 3D printing, and LEDs. Perfect for cosplay and ma
Have you ever wanted to make something interact with the world? What exactly goes into making a project that can think, sense, and act on the world? A system that can complete the cycle of sensing, thinking, and acting is the very definition of a Robot! After studying robotics for nearly a decade, we want to share a collection of analogies, stories, and lessons we've learned about Robotics. Not from a dense mathematical & engineering point of view, but as a practical lesson to ourselves on "what we wish we knew".
John Collins a.k.a. The Paper Airplane Guy held the world record holder for paper airplane distance for ten years. Author of five books of original designs, John has been called the world’s foremost expert on paper aircraft. He has appeared on Conan, Nat Geo, Discovery, Science Channel, ESPN’s Sports Science, Ripley’s Believe It or Not, as well as performing live for TedX Munich, Google Zeitgeist, WIRED 21, Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, and more than 90 in-person presentations per year. If you've never seen a paper airplane flaps it's wings, flip over and fly back upside down, spin, circle, loop or stay aloft for minutes indoors; tighten your seat belt and stow your tray table. You’re cleared for takeoff!
AWS South Florida is proud to feature several exhibits and activities including our featured AWS DeepRacer arcade!
Florida Armored Combat (FAC) brings the visceral thrill and historical engineering of "Buhurt"; it's full-contact medieval tournament fighting... and we're bringing it to Maker Faire Miami! At our exhibit, attendees will: Explore the Engineering: Learn about the physics of force deflection, the precise mechanical articulation of armor joints, and the metallurgy behind buhurt. Get Hands-On: Feel the weight of the armor and weapons, try on gauntlets and helms! Experience Live Demonstrations: Watch real knights in steel armor engage in authentic, high-intensity combat demonstrations, testing engineering limits!
